Choosing a meeting table
Size from the seats, not the wall: allow roughly 600mm of table edge per person and at least a metre of pull back space behind the chairs. An Oslo 1600mm square seats eight in comfort, and the extension kits let the same table grow later, which is cheaper than replacing it. Shape changes the feel of the meeting: rectangular reads formal, the Oslo oval softens sightlines so everyone can see everyone, and square suits collaborative fours and eights.
Power is the modern dividing line. If laptops attend every meeting, choose a Volta version: sockets, USB and often wireless charging rise out of the tabletop instead of an extension lead crossing the carpet.
