Finding the right desk
Shape first, size second. Straight desks are the flexible default because they re-plan easily when the team changes. Corner desks put more surface within arm's reach but marry you to the layout. Bench systems like the Oslo range, sold as starter units and extension kits, are the economical way to seat rows of people because desks share legs down the run: a single row bench grows one kit at a time, and the back to back version doubles the density.
Then think about how people actually work at it. Sit-stand desks have gone from novelty to normal in the offices we fit, desks with storage suit rooms with no space for cupboards, and executive desks and crescent and wave desks cover the private office. Whatever the desk, allow around 800mm of clear space behind the chair before the next obstacle, or the room will feel cramped no matter how good the furniture is.
